COVID Anger Management (as a Side Hustle)
If you need a platform for you anger management side hustle, you can try out 3veta.com. If you are angry with it – you can shout at me.
COVID-19 has been crushing for many people’s jobs, livelihoods, and mental health.
People are having a hard time, and understandably, the frustration is often getting the best of them.
You have probably fallen victim to angry people yourself more than once in the past months. I surely have.
This idea has been on the back of my mind for quite some time now and I really wanted to write about it. However, my mind was preoccupied with side hustle ideas.
So, oddly, here’s the birth child of these two concepts: COVID anger management as a side hustle.
And if there’s a right day to post it, it’s April Fools’ day, so keep an open mind.
The problem
People are at an all-time high of agitation.
They don’t go on vacations, they don’t take days off (seriously people, stay at home if you must, but take your days off – better for your employer and your sanity)!
Everyone is about to explode with anger, anxiety or frustration everywhere I go. I’ve had three incidents just in the past two weeks!
Two times is a coincidence, three times is a pattern. So here I am – writing about it.
Incident on Focus
Let me provide my most recent example.
Every day I take my dog with me to the office (he works there, too). I always walk him on a leash and never have any trouble with other people or dogs.
Walking happily through the park, Lucky (that’s the name of my dog) saw another dog who was also on a leash. This other dog was escorted by a party of two humans – a man and a woman.
Now, dogs like dogs. But to understand the real extent of that, you should know they usually start sniffing their intimate parts. And so this happens to Lucky and the other doggo, let’s call it “Unlucky” for the purposes of this story. Lucky and Unlucky were engaging in a friendly sniff.
Now, Unlucky’s male owner literally lifted Unlucky while on the leash, essentially suffocating it a bit. Then he started pulling it away.
Immediately, the woman then starts cursing at me for a straight 20 seconds.
I was astonished! I couldn’t even say a word! Nor did I want to. So I just stayed silent and held my dog tight away from these crazy people.
But it wasn’t over.
They walked for five meters, turned around, and continued shouting at me for another minute!
Why didn’t I walk away, one might ask?
What makes this incident truly fascinating is that there were two police officers, witnessing the whole scene.
In that whole minute of swearing, I was looking at the police officers.
They were looking at me. Then the woman. Me. The woman. My dog. Their dog. The woman. The dogs. They were trying to understand if I had done something wrong or not.
I remained silent. I was considering replying in some foreign language, pretending I have no idea what’s going on.
English? Nah. Too mainstream. Maybe she can continue ranting in English.
Italian? A weird flex. So I skipped on that one, too.
While I was thinking about it, the police officers made me a sign to remain silent. Just in case.
And that’s when I knew it.
Anger management is more needed than ever.
People simply need to vent.
The solution
Hopefully, they won’t vent through me.
How about at someone they pay?
Not a psychologist, but someone ready to help them shout a bit.
Someone at a safe distance. Maybe online through a video call?
If total strangers can shout at me, they can surely shout at any other total stranger.
Yes. Random strangers who get paid to be shouted at. It’s like a normal job, but you don’t need any real skills.
Target customer
I have a feeling that everyone can benefit from this. We all know Facebook political posts are a place for anger. So you can start from there.
People on Reddit are also angry. They are anonymously angry, so even angrier! There are whole movements of angry people that are angry for all sorts of reasons!
But remember – you are after people who are temporarily angry, not chronically angry.
How to start this as a side hustle
Find your guys on Facebook and Reddit and shoot them a message.
Many people will laugh at you.
You’ll get angry messages for sure. But don’t get fooled. They are being angry at you without paying you!
That’s your hook! Pitch them again with: ‘Listen, how about we jump on a call, where you can be extra angry at me for an extended period of time. You can pay me to shout at me so you can get this out of your system.’
There is an endless stream of angry people. And it is probably not their fault. But you can protect other people - innocent bystanders walking their dogs or trying to get on a bus.

Extra thoughts
While this article is meant as a parody, it could be adapted in some legit way to prevent people from damaging their relationships.
I am not a doctor, so this venting technique may be good only in the short term. So it’s good while COVID lockdowns last, but bad in longer-term perspective.
There are healthier techniques to manage your anger. Just Google it.
If you are easily offended or shouting really gets to you, don’t try this at home (or anywhere).
If you are the one with anger issues and want to shout back at someone… well, you are kind of getting a sweet deal.
